COMPANY INFORMATION/HISTORY
Swedish Engineering is
an independent company that sells Volvo parts and provides Volvo service.
Our parts customers tend to be: the shade-tree mechanic, the Volvo owner
who wants those easy to install parts at a discount price, the repair shop
that has difficulty getting Volvo parts, we've sold to Volvo dealerships
and anyone else who needs high quality Volvo parts quickly, at a discount
price.
We also have three service
locations where we provide high quality service for Volvos only. We've
come up with our own unique "formula" for success. First we hire the highest
quality staff available, second we create a friendly and egalitarian work
environment and third we constantly strive to improve our services by finding
out what our customers want and then we meet or exceed their expectations.
Our parts department offers
knowledgeable staff and high-quality replacement parts, and many original
equipment Volvo parts, after-market parts, rebuilt parts and used parts.
The quality of our parts is such that we stand behind them with a warranty
that often exceeds that of the original producers of the part. We select
the parts we sell with this warranty in mind. We sell genuine Volvo parts
between 10 and 30 per cent less than Volvo suggested list price. Original
equipment-quality parts are between 10 and 70 percent less than suggested
list price and so is our line of rebuilt parts. We also have a large stock
of affordable, high-quality used parts.
History
Joe Meza started working on Volvos in 1972, while putting himself through college.
In 1976 Joe moved his repair shop to Main Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan from the garage
of his parent's house where he started a small garage that specialized in Volvos.
There he provided the highest quality service and the business grew quickly.
Our Ann Arbor, Michigan location
incorporated under the name of Swedish Engineering in 1981, and currently
services most of the Volvos in Washtenaw County and brings in customers from Lansing, Toledo and the Detroit area.
He launched the National
Parts Sales Division in 1993 and at that time opened a second repair
shop in Marietta, Georgia. The internet web site sent parts sales soaring
and has grown to where we sell to every state in the U.S. and many countries
internationally. At that time he also opened a second repair facility in
Marietta.
In 1998 he opened a third shop in Eugene, Oregon. This enables us to have extended hours for parts
sales and we are able to ship parts more quickly to the western states.
In 2004 we purchased a large building and moved Swedish Engineering headquarters to S. State Circle in Ann Arbor. We are opening a new division and will service Toyotas and Lexus including hybrid vehicles.
